Bridget Barker

BSc (Hons) Zoology, ICSI Practitioner

Clinical Governance Lead, Senior Clinical Scientist

With more than 30 years of experience in the field of fertility, Bridget graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Zoology in 1988, before joining the world famous Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridge for 3 years for her trainee embryologist programme.

Whilst travelling Bridget gained further experience working at Sydney’s Westmead IVF in Australia, returning to the UK to work as Senior Laboratory Manager at Wessex Fertility Centre in Southampton for 9 years. Bridget joined Salisbury Fertility Centre as a Senior Embryologist in 2003.

As Senior Embryologist, Clinical Governance Lead and Training Lead, Bridget’s role is varied and complex. Patient interaction is high and Bridget is often with each patient throughout their treatment cycle explaining each step of the fertility process.

“Having previously worked in large fertility centres, the caring, personal approach a small team can offer to every individual patient is unique and here at Salisbury Fertility Centre we are lucky to be able to provide that. Communication and professionalism is next to none and we all try our hardest for patients and colleagues alike. I thoroughly enjoy my work and get enormous satisfaction from working with such a great bunch of people.”
