Fertility Assessment

For a rapid check of your fertility

What is our Fertility Assessment?

Our Fertility Assessment is a rapid check of your's, and if appropriate, your partner’s fertility which will leave you informed of the current position of your fertility and the next steps you need to take to have a baby.

Who is our Fertility Assessment appropriate for?

If you wish to commence fertility treatment without waiting for infertility investigations to be completed on the NHS or if you know that you will not fulfil the criteria for NHS funded treatment, our Fertility Assessment may be appropriate for you. Our Fertility Assessment is appropriate for heterosexual couples. Our Female Fertility Assessment is appropriate for female same-sex couples and single women and our Male Fertility Assessment is appropriate for men. These will help you to understand which step you need to take next to fulfil your wish of conceiving.

Costs & Free Consultation Terms

The total cost for the Fertility Assessment is £500. The total cost for the Female Fertility Assessment is £440 and the total cost for the Male Fertility Assessment is £300. However, following the completion of one of our fertility assessments if you decide to have treatment at Salisbury Fertility Centre you will not be charged for your initial treatment consultation, saving you £200.

The Assessment Process

Contact Us

Please contact us to arrange a Fertility Assessment. We can advise you how the assessment works in detail, answer any questions you may have, and arrange the first step for you.

Blood Test

The first step is for the female to have a blood test completed to ascertain her ovarian reserve (AMH - Anti-Müllerian hormone). A blood test form is collected from the Fertility Centre and the blood is taken in the hospital’s Pathology Department. This is a drop in service so that you can attend at a time which is convenient to you.

Assessment Booking

Once a result has been received for this blood test the female contacts the Fertility Centre on day 1 of her menstrual cycle and the remaining assessments and consultation appointment are booked for the same day within the first half of the female’s cycle.

Assessments

You attend the Fertility Centre and a diagnostic test called a Hycosy is completed for the female to check the patency of her fallopian tubes. This includes an SIS (Saline Infusion Sonography) to check the uterine cavity for polyps, fibroids and uterine abnormalities.

If appropriate, a semen analysis is completed on the male partner.

Consultation

Once the assessments have been completed you will meet with one of our expert, experienced and friendly consultants. The consultant will discuss the results of the blood test, Hycosy and, if appropriate, semen analysis with you, make a diagnosis and discuss next steps and treatment options with you.
