Funding

Funding and Eligibility for Fertility Treatment

NHS funding

NHS funding for treatment is granted by local Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) according to their own criteria. Your ICB is determined by the location of your registered GP. Dorset, Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), Hampshire and Somerset ICBs, and NHS England for military personnel, and others all fund different amounts of fertility treatment and have different eligibility criteria.

We support our patients as much as we can to obtain NHS funding for their treatment and will apply for exceptional funding on your behalf if you fail to meet the criteria but we believe you have a reasonable chance of obtaining NHS funding. We will always be honest with you to ensure your expectations remain realistic.

Please contact us for details of the eligibility criteria for the ICB appropriate to you, if you have any questions about eligibility or you would like more information.

Private

If you are funding your own treatment you may find the price list useful. All our prices are transparent with no hidden extras. All screening blood tests and scans are included in the costs of the treatments.

Unlike most clinics we do not charge private patients additionally for the use of time-lapse photography or the freezing of surplus embryos. All screening blood tests and scans are also included in the costs of treatment. This means that an IVF or ICSI treatment cycle at Salisbury Fertility Centre is significantly cheaper than at most other clinics once all costs have been added together, and without any compromise on quality. Time-lapse photography is widely used by fertility clinics and helps our embryologists select the best embryo for transfer to give our patients the best chance of successful treatment. For more information please contact us.

For private patients we welcome individuals or couples in stable relationships. We have an upper age limit of 44 for women seeking treatment with their own eggs, unless frozen embryos are being used, and 48 for women seeking treatment with donor eggs. We have no upper age limit for men. For treatment, body mass index (BMI) needs to be less than 35 for women.

For our Egg Sharing Scheme the donor needs to:

  • Be going through treatment before her 36 birthday
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) of less than 30
  • Be a non-smoker
  • Have both ovaries present
  • Not have moderate/severe endometriosis
  • Not have responded poorly to any previous treatment cycles
  • Have no concerns raised by completion of the health questionnaire
  • Consent to Salisbury Fertility Centre contacting her GP
  • Have the consent of her partner for this course of treatment
