MBACP (Accred), BA (Hons) Psychology, Adv Dip Counselling

Counsellor

Sarah has been a Counsellor/Psychotherapist for more than 19 years, a part of the Fertility Centre team for 15 years and has over 40 years’ experience in healthcare, having previously worked as a registered nurse.

She is a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and also completes other counselling work in an NHS Clinical Psychology Department and private practice.

It is widely acknowledged that assisted conception can be joyful at times but also stressful. Issues of loss can be experienced alongside worry and upset. Counselling can be used specifically for issues related to treatment, for example implications for the use of donor eggs, sperm, embryos and surrogacy, and also offers a supportive, confidential environment to all patients, couples and individuals receiving treatment at the centre.

“I never fail to learn from my patients and feel privileged and humble to do the work that I do. I very much enjoy being part of the team at the clinic and that we all work towards the shared goal of taking good care of our patients.”
